More July 2007

Natalie and I went to the zoo since she is between jobs. Oh, that is good news I've failed to mention. . . .

Natalie resigned her job at VMS to be a special education teacher for Spencer County Schools. She will begin her new career officially on 6 August, but the district seems to be expecting a lot of "volunteer work" before that time. Even with the volunteering, she is excited. She will make a great special ed teacher - she has the heart and the patience to work with special needs kids. We are proud of her.

Anyway, we enjoyed our trip to the zoo - thinking ahead to next summer when we can take Mr. Baby with us! Of course, he will be too small to realize much of what's going on, but we can take him the year after that and the year after that and the year after that.

It was a hot day, but nice and windy - before an evening of storms that cooled things off considerably. Despite the heat, there were plenty of animals to see, although some looked considerably uncomfortable - like this gorilla.
The trees are always greener on the other side of the fence. :) It was a perfect day. We even rode the train, proving that some kids never grow up! Thanks, Natalie, for taking your mom to the zoo.

I got a picture of that gorilla in that same position in June! I guess he spends a lot of time lying around like that!
