Today was such a fun day . . . .

Whitney returned to work on Wednesday of this week after an 8-week maternity leave. Grant isn't scheduled to begin daycare until Monday, 8 October, so someone was needed to babysit on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. Whitney's mom is in town visiting from Utah, so she stayed with Grant on Wednesday and Thursday. For the sake of 'fairness,' I was invited to stay with him today. Knowing Whitney's mom lives so far away, I would have understood perfectly if she had been asked to do all three days, BUT I was elated to have the opportunity to spend today with him!

Grant is growing so quickly. If you saw him at the wienie roast, you will notice that he looks even a bit larger than last Saturday. He is so pleasant, too. The only time he seems to fuss is when he is hungry. He is such a joy to be around. He is cuddly, that's for sure. But, rather than holding him constantly, I put him down on his "fancy blanket" several times to play and he loved it. He also loves to have his diaper changed - he smiles and just gets really happy when he hits the changing table! He took a couple brief naps in his swing and a pretty lengthy nap on his "fancy blanket." [I'm sure there is a real name for the blanket, but I don't have a clue what it is!]

Gary was off today, so he spent a good deal of the day with us. Today is Uncle David's day off, too, so he came over for a little while as well. Once again, it takes a village, huh? Actually, we all just love it when we get the opportunity to spend time with the little guy. He is awfully special to us, no doubt about it.
