More Washington, D.C. - Day One :)The Cherry Blossom Festival was in progress and trees like this were everywhere. Beautiful!
Our next stop was the Air and Space Museum, currently housing a limited exhibit from the American History Museum, which is in the process being renovated. This is the "puffy shirt" from Seinfeld and Mr. Roger's sweater.
This is George Washington's uniform and his battle sabre. He wasn't a very large man, that's for sure.
Did you know the ruby slippers were covered in sequins??? I was surprised - I always thought they were something fancier than that.
And, no American History exhibit would be complete without Kermit! The exhibit is very small and quite crowded. We were really looking forward to visiting the American History Museum, but I guess we will have to catch that one next time.

Interesting that the Puffy Shirt is in the same case with Mr. Rogers' Sweater... :-)

I hope you had a great trip. We did!

I thought I'd always read that Washington was tall for his generation at 6'1". Another myth busted?
