Memory Lane, Day 3Once we ate our breakfast at Perkins on Peach Street, our main objective for Sunday was to put flowers on the graves of both sets of grandparents and Aunt Connie and Uncle Bill. We started with a trip to Erie Cemetery to visit Grandma and Grandpa Volgstadt. Grandpa was only 55 when he died! Wow, that will make you stop and think - especially if you are 55!
For future reference, they are near the road in section 14 - between two huge trees.
After Erie Cemetery we headed for Northeast, PA, to visit Grandma and Grandpa Hewitt, passing Saint Vincent Medical Center on our way. Hmmmm - what does it say about a hospital when it is so close to a cemetery??
Photos taken while the car is moving aren't always the best, are they? You will notice I took a number of them, though. Dad slowed as much as he could without holding up traffic, but most of my pictures were taken on the run. :)
Dad thinks Ma was in the far left room of either the first or second floor when Nan was born. :)
