Day 2 Continues
Our next objective was Lincoln Memorial - seen through the telephoto lens from the Washington Monument. We walked the entire way because we couldn't fine a bus that went to the monuments that wasn't a "tour" bus. Tour buses cost at least $25.00 per person and, at the time, we didn't think it was worth it. In retrospect, it probably was worth every penny, because walking from the Washington Monument to the Lincoln Memorial and, finally, to the Jefferson Memorial was a very long walk indeed! To top it off, it finally warmed up. On the way to the Lincoln Memorial, we stopped to see the World War II Memorial. Since Dad/Grandpa was in a ship off the coast of Okinawa, I took this picture.
And, since he is from Pennsylvania, I photographed the Pennsylvania memorial.

I guess you didn't have to worry about watching your weight with all that exercise! At least you saw a lot!
