Hello to the guys in Florida!

This is where Dad and Bob spent Thanksgiving. Usually more of the family make it to Dad's for Thanksgiving, but this year circumstances prevented them from getting there. Actually, Gary and I went with the kids in October, so we missed Thanksgiving by about three weeks. But, the weather is better in October - although, it is supposed to be really nice down there right now - probably as nice as it was when we were there (because our temperatures were rather cool). We all had a great time, then, though!

Anyway, we talked to Dad and Bob on the phone last night (before Dad ran out of minutes) and it sounds like they are enjoying their holiday week! What's not to enjoy - beautiful beach, pleasant weather, nice pool and terrific company. Life is good all over!

Happy Thanksgiving from all of us!A group photo was in order . . . I told Bob and Dad I would take a picture to send to them in Florida - where they ate Thanksgiving Dinner at the Mariner Seafood Buffet. No turkey for them! They don't like turkey anyway!

We had a wonderful day! I am very, very thankful for everything. I have been blessed with a great husband who loves me more than ever. We have been blessed with great kids who have found their perfect partners. I have a wonderful Dad (& Ma), brother & family, sister & family. Gary and I are fortunate to have a home, food, good jobs, enough money for the things we need and many of the things we want - but not so much that we don't have to rely on our faith to get by! We have so much to be thankful for! Thanks to all who are a part of our lives! Good night and may God bless!

Wii is David's Christmas gift from his parents. We have had more fun with that the last couple times they have visited. I didn't play much today because of KP duty, but everyone was having a good time. I enjoyed hearing all the laughter! Aside from golf, we played tennis, bowled, played baseball. A good time was had by all!

 

Happy Thanksgiving!This is Whitney with Tom, our 22 lb. turkey. Tom was the best turkey I ever baked! I was going to take a picture of Tom before he went in the oven, but forgot! This is what he looked like afterwards. His wings fell off on the way from pan to platter, but no matter - he was tender and juicy. My new oven is one of my blessings to be thankful for this year. I've never made such a tasty turkey!
Here we are chowing down. A long day of cooking, but well worth it. Everyone seemed to enjoy the meal. We all ate until we could eat no more. Did I have all 13 required items? Hmm - turkey, stuffing, rolls, butter, cranberry sauce, fruit salad, corn, potatoes, gravy, tomato juice, milk, pie (2 kinds, thanks to Natalie), whipped cream, ice cream - I think we made it with items to spare.

 

Happy Anniversary! As I mentioned earlier, we celebrated 33 years on 27 October 2006! Pretty good, huh? Nice to love somebody for that long AND be loved back!
For our anniversary, the kids bought us tickets to see James Taylor at the Louisville Palace! What a terrific show! We had a wonderful time! We took these self-portraits when we got home from the concert to send to the kids to thank them! I wish I had a scanner, I would put a picture from 1973 side-by-side just so everyone can see that we haven't changed one iota! :)

Morning Walk - October 29, 2006What a treat - the pelicans were abundant for our morning walk!

Gary and the former Sea Witch. Hope the motel is still there next year. Keep your fingers crossed. PCB has more than enough high-rises - Sunnyside doesn't need any. Unfortunately, there aren't enough people against it, so this motel will eventually go the way of the dodo bird. I just hope it is still around next year - and the year after that. Keep your fingers crossed!
